鏡円寺の歴史
天正１５年（1587）
李宗歓が筑前黒崎（現北九州）に漂着。
Li Zong-hwan was washed ashore in Kurosaki, Chikuzen (today’s Kitakyushu).
天正１９年（1591）
李宗歓、佐嘉鍋島藩家臣 龍造寺家晴、成富兵庫茂安と邂逅。
Encounter with Ryuzoji Ieharu and Narutomi Hyogo Shigeyasu, vassals of the Saga Nabeshima clan.
佐嘉藩に招聘され、苗字（川﨑清蔵と称す）・帯刀を許される。
He was invited to the Saga domain and was allowed to use the surname(Kawasaki Seizo) and carry a sword.
文禄１年（1592）～慶長３年（1598）
豊臣秀吉の朝鮮出兵（文禄・慶長の役）の折り佐嘉藩の軍勢に帯同し、藩主鍋島直茂に貢献。撤兵に際し、技術者や工人、知識人などを伴い帰藩。 He accompanied the Saga Domain’s troops during Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s invasion of Korea (the Bunroku-Keicho War), contributing to the domain’s lord, Nabeshima Naoshige. When the troops withdrew, he returned to the domain accompanied by engineers, craftsmen, and intellectuals.
慶長４年（1599
戦役の功績に対して、城外愛敬嶋村を居留地に定め、高麗人（渡来人）＝異国人＝唐人が住む町として唐人町を設ける。 In recognition of his achievements in the war, the village of Aikejima outside the castle was designated as a settlement, and a Chinese town was established as a place for Koreans (immigrants) = foreigners to live.
寛永３年（1626）
鍋島勝茂公の姫付老女、秀島源右衛門の母（法名 鏡圓）の願いにより鏡円寺が創建される。 Kyoen-ji Temple was founded at the request of Hideshima Genemon’s mother (Buddhist name Kyoen), an elderly woman who was the attendant of Lord Nabeshima Katsushige’s princess.
大正２年（1913）と昭和５３年（1978）
２度、失火・不審火により堂宇・庫裡を全焼焼失。 The temple’s main hall and residential area were completely burned down twice, due to accidental fire in1913 and suspicious fire in 1978.
昭和５８年（1983）
４月 第２５世 顕蓮社彰誉上人真阿実道寛明大和尚 遷化。 April: The 25th head priest passed away. ７月 当代 観誉信明法灯継承。 July: Current head priest inherited.
平成２年（1991）
５月 本堂再建工事着工 平成３年 １月 完工・引渡。 In May 1991, reconstruction work of the main hall began and was completed and handed over in January 1992.
平成２８年（2016）
８月 鏡円寺開基４００年慶讃事業に向けて諮問員会発足。 August: Advisory committee launched to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Kyoen-ji Temple.
平成３１年（2019）
２月 新庫裡完工・引き渡し。 February: New storage completed and handed over.
令和１年（2019）
鏡円寺樹木葬事業始まる。 Kyoenji tree burial projects begins.
令和８年（2026）
鏡円寺開基４００年慶讃法要 及び 記念行事執行 。 Celebrating the 400th anniversary of Kyoen-ji Temple’s founding and holding memorial events.
